Metal organic compounds (such as organic mercury, organic lead, organic arsenic, organic tin, etc.) are much more toxic than corresponding metal inorganic compounds; Soluble metals are more toxic than particulate metals; Hexavalent chromium is more toxic than trivalent chromium, and so on.
